How licensing works
All Brekel apps follow the same model: try for free, and when it fits your workflow buy a license in the shop. You install the app and its license on your own hardware. A license is perpetual, it never expires, and there are no subscriptions.
Free trial
Every product page has a free trial download, no license or registration needed. Trials are restricted (typically a recording time limit); each product page lists exactly what applies. The trial is also the easiest way to check that your hardware and sensors work well before buying.
MeshCache Studio works slightly differently: instead of a separate trial download there is one installer, which runs in trial mode without a license and unlocks fully once one is installed.
Evaluation license
If the trial restrictions get in the way of properly testing, (for example you need network live streaming) you can request a free evaluation license. That is a full retail license without functionality restrictions that expires after 2 weeks. Evaluation licenses are created and emailed manually; allow up to 24 hours, though it's usually much quicker.
Buying a license
Licenses are sold in the shop. Prices are in US dollars or Euros, excluding tax. Right after purchase you receive an email with a download link for the full version; the license itself is emailed separately within 24 hours, though it's usually much quicker.
You can keep installing and running the application for as long as you like.
Body v3 and PointCloud v3 come in two editions: the Single Sensor license uses one sensor at a time (any brand or type), the Multi Sensor license uses as many sensors as your hardware can handle, on one machine or across networked machines.
Updates and maintenance
For most apps, updates are free: a license gets you all versions released for the version branch you bought.
Body v3 and PointCloud v3 use maintenance plans instead. A license includes one year of maintenance updates; after that you keep using the versions you have, or buy a one-year maintenance update in the shop when you want newer versions again. The app lists the latest version you can still use under Licensing > Show License Info.
Upgrading between major versions (for example Body v2 to Body v3) is a separate purchase; discounted upgrade options are on the shop's Updates & Upgrades page.
